Waterfall Model
In some projects it is relatively easy to determine the requirements exactly at the beginning itself. This gives the development team a leeway to envisage the workflow of the project; therefore they can formulate the entire development process into phases, with clear deliverables at the end of each phase. This is the approach that is known as Waterfall Model.
At Saviance, number of applications use conventional waterfall model. The development team organizes the project plan into five phases in a strict serial order. A lot of time is spent up front to classify and analyze requirements and to complete the design of the objective system before a line of code is written. This approach does not handle changes in requirements or design.
This approach has following stages:
- User requirements specifications documentation in the form of SRS
- High Level Systems Documentations in the form of HLD manual
- Low Level System Documentation in the form of LLD manual
- User requirements Manual/Guide
- Operations manual to aid the users in running the designated system
