The Client
National Defence College is a pioneer institute of its kind. Aimed at delivering special skills to experienced officers building them as valuable assets for the nation.
The Challenge
To develop a complete mini ERP with 18 modules and update the workflow for modules like Fleet Management, Mess Accounts and Course Members.
The Solution
The intranet portal automated the various modules pertaining to individual departments of NDC. Some of the major modules covered are:
Course Member
This section facilitates management of complete profiles of course members, their accounts and query builder based search.
Accommodation
Complete accommodation management process is automated to facilitate all the related operations online.
Section Accounts
From financial account creation to balance sheet generation, this section work like a MIS for the various sections of NDC.
University
NDC is affiliated with Madras University. The entire process of applications, marks, mark sheets and certificates is managed here.
Tours
NDC course comprises of various national and international tours. This module manages tour schedules, tour user grouping and tour estimations. The module also generates various reports for the tour management department.
Trainings
Being the core functionality, this module facilitates grouping course members, managing course events, setting course calendar and reports.
Message Board
This is the internal messaging system for interaction among the course members. Features like grouping, folder management and attachments are also supported.
IMS (Information Management System)
The powerhouse of any organization is its information. NDC by means of their IMS system facilitates knowledge and information sharing. Journals, online resources and documents are managed here.
Other modules covered are Dak and Fleet, Mess section, inventory, leaves, speakers, user management, logs etc.
The complete application facilitates role-based access and is nicely supported with email communication and user-friendly interface.
